So Christmas is done. All of you basic bitches got your Michael Kors watches and engaged and I got a headache from binge watching Jessica Jones. I also put some of my headache down to agonising over what 2016 could have in store. I’ll share…
In 2016 I will turn 30. For most women it’s that apocalyptic time bomb of, ‘SHIT KIDS. FUCK MARRIAGE. BOLLOCKS CAREER.’ And it probably would have been for me, if I was where I was in my life a few months ago. But as a single, independent woman who gets her life advice from Beyoncé songs and whatsapp groups, I’ve got a slightly different outlook.
I want my 2016 to feature SUCCESS. I want a year of teaching where I’m left alone to get on with my job and not made to feel like the devil incarnate because I forgot to mark a Science book. More importantly to me, I want my blog to become a success. There’s a yearning here. One that screams, ‘write more, grow, go viral.’ And I want it. Bad. So hopefully 2016 will see more regular posts and better writing and photography. I want to keep making you guys laugh because it honestly makes my day.
I want my 2016 to feature TRAVEL. I want to go somewhere I haven’t been before. I’ve got a few trips in mind in the UK and it’s inevitable my twin and I will wake up in Vegas on our 30th but I want to grace my Insta grid with a different place.
I want my 2016 to feature EVENTS. This year I have been lucky enough to have been invited to a ton of great stuff, but I’ve had to turn down a lot due to work. Next year, I want to figure out a way to go to more things. Preferably whilst avoiding getting sacked.
I want my 2016 to feature FRIENDS. I’ve had a lot of transient people enter and leave my life. I’ve also had a fair few that have stuck around and a new few who have entered that I hope won’t leave for a while. 2016 will be all about being more social, making time for people and leaning on them when I need them.
I also want my 2016 to feature a lot of the following; curry, Netflix, musical theatre, boys, gin, cheese and Instagram likes.
Anyone want to help a sister out there? What does your 2016 have in store?
