2015 was a great year for my beauty stash. I began an ever increasing Nars collection and almost quadrupled my MAC lipstick ownership. My biggest beauty achievement was of course becoming a Sephora VIB. Shame that I now have rent to pay but my beauty collection is fairly stable.
I should’ve jumped on this bandwagon earlier in January but I had stuffs going on and I was kind of bored of reading other people’s posts. But I’ve done one anyway, hopefully you’re past peak favourites and ready to see some more!
Make Up Revolution Golden Sugar, Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Light and Make Up Revolution Flawless eyeshadow palette
These 3 palettes have been the only palettes I have used all year. Before I picked up the Contour Kit in Vegas, I was contouring with this Make Up Revolution blush palette. The darker bronze shade is perfect for hollowing out my pale cheekbones and the lighter shade is ideal for a subtle sweep across my face.
I find the Anastasia deepest bronze too dark for my skin but the highlighters are perfect and the top middle shade never fails to correct my under eye bags. In 2016 I plan on picking up the Cream Contour Kit in Fair as the quality of Anastasia products is just ridiculously good.
This eyeshadow palette from Make Up Revolution is genuinely my everything. I’m not a huge eyeshadow wearer but the nude shades are perfect for a subtle every day colour whereas the pinky brown shades are what I use to create a bronzed eye. I also went for a smokey eye using the darker grey shades for Christmas Eve and finally felt like a near 30 year old woman who was capable of doing make up.
These are the only base products that have graced my face in 2015. My current routine is to slather on the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, dot the Clinique Moisture Surge and Bobbi Brown BB cream all over, contour with the above palettes and then use my Beauty Blender to blend it all in. I have found this gives me full but glowing coverage. If my skin is looking shite, as it often does, I’ll slap some of this Nars foundation on too.
Alongside my Flawless palette, my favourite products for my eyes in 2015 have been these.
The Tarte Creaseless Concealer truly lives up to its name and if the hard Gin fuelled nights have buggered up my under eye area, this bad boy takes over. It’s SUPER thick, which I wasn’t expecting but boy, sometimes it is needed.
Lastly, I couldn’t leave out this eyebrow pencil and brush from Charlotte Tilbury. I’m hella lazy when it comes to brow upkeep and this little friend never judges, just lends support.
Top right and clockwise: Clinique Grape Pop, Mac Modesty, Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, Mac Lady Danger, HM Lip Velour, Nars Audacious Annabella, Mac Lickable, Mac lip pencil What a blast, Mac Pink Nouveau, Mac Toledo Barbecue and Center: Mac Faux
I bought all of these products this year and these are now the lip products I always turn to. My absolute favourite this year is Mac Toledo in Barbecue. I thought it was the perfect summer red but I have turned to this lipstick throughout winter, basically every time I’ve fancied a no fuss red. It doesn’t budge and is truly matte. It has a slightly orange feel to it which brightens up the face and I just can’t express how much it is bae.
My favourite daily lip colour is Mac Modesty. It’s a Cremesheen so slightly more hydrating than the mattes but not too glossy. It’s completely a ‘my lips but better’ shade.
So there we have my 2015 beauty stash. Just thinking about how much money I’ve spent on makeup this year makes me do a little sick in my mouth. What have been your 2015 beauty must haves?
