Thank you for discussing this topic openly and for sharing your own personal experiences and for being so honest. As a blind person with no useful vision, I know how crucial and important looking after your eyes is, so thank you. Well done you for being so positive! X

It was so lovely to read this post and hear you talk so openly. I know what it can be like. I have a deep scar running through my right eye. Luckily, it isn’t noticeable and I still have my vision, but it is impaired. I got turned away for laser surgery too and it can be so disheartening when you have geared yourself up for it!

I can’t have laser eye surgery as my blindness keeps getting worse with the passing years. To be honest, I feel naked without my specs now though!

I was rejected too, it sucks. I want to wear cute sunglasses without needing contacts too, but meh. Sometimes I feel like us glasses wearers are just more fun with our glasses, especially if you get ones you love! I love my iollas, I have 3 different pairs to choose from, and it makes getting ready that little bit more fun! 🙂

I’m a lifelong glasses-wearer and the only time that I realised that my eyesight was awful was when I had to get my lenses thinned on my recent order.. God knows if I’d ever survive the exams for laser eye surgery though!

This is the one thing that has scared me about getting my eye laser-ed, is to build up all that courage just for them to say “Nope, off you fuck now”. I rarely wear contacts and am forever hastily ripping my glasses off my face anytime someone tries to take a photo, but at least I can see, and I should be lucky for that! 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this though, I feel slightly better for reading that I’m not alone
